David Carpenter, MD, Testifes About Smart Meter Health Effects

Here is what David Carpenter, MD, has to say about smart meter radiation in testimony to the Michigan Public Service Commission:

“Probable diminished life expectancy for the majority [of the population],
probable genetic damage.”

“Universal deployment of such meters throughout our urban areas amounts to an experiment on the people living in those areas, an experiment without the consent of the experimental subject.”

Question: Is there something about this kind of radiofrequency that is very different than the kind of radio frequency the public has been exposed to for decades from AM and FM radio stations?

Dr. Carpenter: Yes. The radiofrequency used in smart meters is pulse-modulated. There is a body of scientific literature suggesting that pulse-modulated RF is more disruptive to the human body, and to other living things, than is a steady or slowly varying RF field.

Keep in mind: your cell phone emits pulsed radiation, as does your Wi-Fi. None of these fields are safe! Smart meters are this stuff on steroids, but we are already seeing brain cancer rates rise from cell and cordless phone use.

Doctor Experiences Atrial Fibrillation, Insomnia, Headaches

I am writing regarding the severe problems and symptoms our family has had due to EMF radiation from the smart meter on our house. My husband and I have had headaches, and insomnia, and I have had palpitations and hospital admissions for Atrial Fibrillation and now have to take an anti-arrhythmic.  We have had fatigue and brain fog and trouble with concentration and focus.  We have episodes of nausea and cough with airway spasm.

The smart meter is on the wall right outside the head of our bed. We don’t have any other way to maneuver the furniture in our bedroom to minimize our exposure. Our dog that slept on the bed with us and would rest there during the day developed severe anemia and rectal bleeding and stomach distension and we were told by our vet that she probably had a malignancy in her bone marrow, and she ultimately died after severe heart failure and lung congestion.

I desperately need to have my smart meter removed for our severe health conditions.

Job Affected Due to Memory Problems from Smart Meters

Since the smart meters were put on my home in the spring of 2014, I have been having sleep issues, heart palpitations, and anxiety.  I am having trouble at work because my memory is shot.  I am tired ALL the time and don't feel like doing things any more.  My dog has also acted nervous and anxious since the meters went in last spring. I didn’t know the meters were being put on my home that day. I came home one evening, and I could smell something I had never smelled before when I got out of my car. The smell made me go right to the meters on the side of the house, and sure enough, the smart meters had been installed between the time I left for work in the AM and when I got home at dinner time.  [Editor's note: As you may notice, this woman is not saying she could smell the smart meters. EMFs can affect the brain and nervous system, and it is possible that this is what caused the new smell for her. Alternatively, it could be that some kind of smell was being exuded by the meter.]

Blood Pressure, Jaw Pain, Anxiety, Atrial Fibrillation, Increased Sensitivity

We bought a brand new house in March 2013.  Five months later in November 2013 I was searching why I had been having trouble sleeping, had very severe TMJ, my husband had extremely high blood pressure and we both had heart palpitations. We were shocked to find that we had a smart meter installed on the wall behind our TV room, which is the same wall where our bedroom is.   I had been following the smart meter installations in California and Chicago because a friend was having some health problems after having smart meters in her neighborhood even though she did not have one on her house.  We were unaware that smart meters were being installed in Macomb County, Michigan.

Here are some of the problems we have had since the smart meter was installed:

EXTREMELY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: After spending a lot of time in the room where the smart meter is on the outside wall watching TV I had to rush my husband to the hospital where they were UNABLE to get his blood pressure under control even after three different medications and an intravenous BP med. He is now on blood pressure medication. He never had a blood pressure problem prior.  In fact it was a joke between us that I would take my blood pressure which has been high for years and his was always 120/80.

ANXIETY:   I feel very anxious about the smallest details of our life. This is totally out of character for me. I am usually smiling, happy and positive.  I have a reputation as a problem solver, caregiver and being “in charge.”

Muscle Spasms, Insomnia, Tinnitus, Mental Fog

In November of 2010, DTE installed a smart meter on our home.  This was done without our prior knowledge or consent.  We were not aware of the installation of this meter until April of 2011, when I observed it while doing yard work.  The meter is mounted on the exterior of our home 3 feet from my head when I sleep at night.

During the winter of 2010-2011 I began to have health concerns.  For the first time in my life, I was unable to sleep through the night.  I would awaken nearly every night with muscle spasms in my lower extremities that required my getting out of bed to walk around my home to relieve them.  In addition, I regularly woke up between 3:00 and 3:30 AM, unable to go back to sleep.

I had developed tinnitus in 2003.  My tinnitus began after a cell phone tower was built on the corner of Hickory Ridge Rd. and Rose Center Rd. in Rose Township.  This cell tower is 1.5 miles from my home.  After installation of the smart meter, my tinnitus symptoms increased dramatically and these symptoms persist to this day.

During the winter of 2010-2011 I became chronically fatigued and found that I had periods where I was unable to think clearly or remember things in the manner to which I was accustomed.

Installation of the smart meter resulted in another problem for me.  After the installation of the smart meter, I began to suffer severe reactions from my cordless phone.  I was not aware of the toxicity of the cordless phone until after the smart meter was installed.  I began to lose my hearing from talking on the cordless phone.  My ears were making copious amounts of earwax to protect my inner ears from the damage that the cordless phone was causing.  I now have corded phones in my home and do not use a cell phone.  This has helped, but I still suffer from raging tinnitus.

All Family Members Affected Within a Month: Chest Pain, Migraines, etc

My family (myself, husband, and children) has experienced several symptoms that we associate with the smart meter devices on our home.  Myself or a family member has experienced and continue to experience within a month of living in the home symptoms that include frequent migraine headaches and daily general dull headaches that sometimes last up to 48 hours, inability to focus, nosebleeds, insomnia, fatigue, tinnitus, nausea, and chest pain accompanied by irregular heartbeats/heart palpitations.  Prior to recently experiencing these symptoms, we had no pre-existing medical conditions and consider ourselves to be in excellent general health.

Heart palpitations, hard to think at times

Since a smart meter was installed on my home, I experience heart palpitations and it is hard to think at times.
